Henri Tan

Mr Henri Tan is currently a HR Consultant, workshop trainer, training facilitator as well as a certified WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualification) courseware developer. His two main areas of expertise are in The Employment Act and relevant employment laws, as well as the design and implementation of an effective Performance Management system.

To date, Henri has had more than 18 years of experience in people management and people development since he started his career with the National Productivity Board in 1994, now known as SPRING Singapore. Henri was previously overseeing the regional HR portfolio for a geotechnical firm with its Asian HQ, which was based in Singapore. Prior to that, he was Senior Human Resources Manager of a public listed local company in the Oil and Gas industry for 11 years, managing several HR portfolios for Singapore and China.

As an Adult Educator, Henri has delivered learning programmes for working adults, employing andragogic strategies in his delivery to engage learners and impact learning outcomes. He has been actively delivering training programmes for operators in the healthcare sector to enhance their people-management practices in the last two years.

Henri has conducted many public runs and in-house Employment Act workshops since 2013 for clients from different industries. In addition, he provides advisory services to companies on reviewing employment contracts and HR documents to ensure that they meet statutory specifications. He is currently appointed by a local agency as one of the Lead Auditors who are helping companies to bridge compliance gaps in HR practices with regulatory requirements.

He holds a Master of Arts from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), a post Graduate Diploma in Human Capital Management from the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from National University of Singapore (NUS). He had also obtained the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) in 2010, Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) and Certified Workplace Learning Specialist (CWLS) in 2016, awarded by the Workforce Development Agency (WDA). In addition, Henri is also a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (US) and trained by UK-CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) in the area of Human Resources.
